13. EXEMPTIONS FROM MARKINGS AND ISSUANCE OF UNDERCOVER LICENSE PLATES FOR UNDERCOVER VEHICLES GOING INTO SERVICE Approve per A.R.S. §38-538.03 exemptions from markings and undercover license plate designations for 2 county fleet replacement vehicles assigned to the Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team for transporting inmates under non-routine circumstances. The specialized use requires these vehicles be exempt from markings for officer and inmate security. Board approval is required because by law, authorization for exemption from markings is vehicle specific, good for one year, and does not automatically transfer to replacement vehicles.
