16. IGA WITH ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS FOR SWORN BASIC TRAINING ACADEMY PARTICIPATION Approve an intergovernmental agreement between Maricopa County administered through the Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) and Arizona Department of Corrections (ADC) Regarding Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Basic Training Academy. This Agreement allows the Arizona Department of Corrections to send designated individuals to participate in scheduled MCSO’s Sworn Basic Training Academies at a cost of $500 per registrant. The Term of this Agreement is April 1, 2016 through June 30, 2020. This Agreement will allow MCSO to provide training space, when available, to ADC designated recruits in MCSO scheduled sworn training academies. ADC is responsible for providing worker’s compensation insurance, salary, benefits, weapons, ammunition and uniforms for its participants. ADC will be required to pay a registration cost of $500 per participant to cover materials. The Sheriff’s sworn training academy is comprised of a curriculum resulting in law enforcement officers that AZPOST (Arizona Peace Officer Standard Training) certified. (C-50-16-081-M-00)
