14. IGA WITH CITY OF PHOENIX FOR MAINTENANCE ON CONSOLE UNITS (POSITIONS) USED BY ADULT PROBATION Approve an IGA between the City of Phoenix and Maricopa County through the Sheriff’s Office in the not-to-exceed amount of $54,000 per year. This is a renewal of an IGA approved in May 2016 (C-50-16-105-3-00) and March 2017 (C-50-16-105-3-01) that expires June 30, 2020. The purpose of this IGA is to provide hardware maintenance, preventative maintenance, and help desk support for nine (9) consoles units (“positions”) located in the Sheriff’s 911 Center that are used by the County Adult Probation Department. This IGA is effective from July 1, 2020 and will continue until June 30, 2025 or until terminated by formal act of the Parties. MCSO’s current use of positions includes an understanding that positions will be commandeered for use as emergency 9-1-1- positions in a declared emergency. In 2016 the County Adult Probation Department dispatch function was located to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Communications Division/911 Center. The “positions” that are assigned to Adult Probation do not meet the emergency criteria for those that are covered by Regional 9-1-1 resulting in a monthly service charge per “position” to the Sheriff’s Office by the City of Phoenix. The cost is $500 per month (12 months) per “position” (9 positions) for an annual total of $54,000 and a five-year contract value of $270,000. This cost represents a reduction from the current IGA’s annual cost of $81,000. As a regional 9-1-1 Center, the Sheriff’s Office is billed annually for service to these “positions, ” that are not covered by the regional funding because they are not assigned to first responders.
