13. ONE-TIME ADDITION TO FLEET OF REDLINED SHERIFF’S K9 VEHICLE FOR LAKE PATROL Approve the one-time addition to fleet of red-lined vehicle #311149, a 2011 Ford Expedition valued at $11,009, to be used at Lake Patrol. This vehicle will be used as a back up K9 vehicle on an as-needed basis only. The annual estimated cost is $1,000 to be paid from the general fund. This vehicle will be retired at the end of its useful life with no funding from the general fund for replacement. Three (3) K9’s are assigned to Lake Patrol. K9 vehicles are equipped with a kennel, heat alarm, and door popper. Vehicles not properly equipped to transport K-9s are subject to material damage in addition to compromising the safety of the K9.
