16. ADDITION TO SHERIFF'S FLEET AND EXEMPTIONS FROM MARKINGS AND ISSUANCE OF UNDERCOVER PLATES Approve a permanent addition to fleet of one full-sized SUV estimated to cost $62,000 plus tax and shipping to be paid from the Sheriff’s Department (D500) FY 2018 General Fund (100) appropriation. Annual operating costs are anticipated to be $6,500, to be paid from the Sheriff’s General Fund (100). Specific vehicle information and the vehicle identification number will be provided after the vehicle is acquired. Direct the Budget Office to adjust the Operating Vehicle Replacement Fund as necessary to accommodate this vehicle being added to the permanent fleet. Also approve pursuant to A.R.S. § 38-538-03 and §28-2511(A) exemptions from markings and undercover license plates. This vehicle will be assigned to the Sheriff’s Security Detail as a dignitary vehicle for MCSO use and will be used to transport the Sheriff, visiting Government Officials, dignitaries and VIP’s while in Maricopa County. This vehicle will also be used for day to day transportation as well as for transporting Sheriff’s Security Detail personnel to inspect sites and facilities in advance of, and immediately prior to, the VIPs arrival to address any possible security concerns. A full sized SUV is necessary due to the space needed to transport MCSO executive staff and equipment. This vehicle allows for proper security measures to be in place in certain circumstances, should a security situation arise. (C-50-18-068-V-00)
