This agreement may be renewed for four, one-year renewal periods subject to the written agreement of the parties and the availability for federal funding. The grant award is reoccurring and has been awarded to the department since 1998. A cash or in-kind match is not applicable. There is no future or ongoing contribution required following termination of the grant period. The Sheriff’s indirect cost rate is 18.3% for a total of $10,070.86, none of which is recoverable. The grant award is not a mandated function but provides a benefit to the citizens by enhancing public safety through illegal drug interdiction. The grant award is not competitively bid. This agreement reimburses 100% of the overtime costs ($55,032) and the employer related expenses (ERE) for employees assigned to the task force. FICA/Medicare and Retirement costs of ($35,958) will need to be absorbed by the MCSO General Fund (100) operating budget. These revenues are not local revenues for the purpose of the constitutional expenditure limitation, and therefore, expenditures of these revenues are not prohibited by the budget law. Approval of this agreement allows for reimbursement of overtime paid to the three deputies assigned to the DEA Task Force. The purpose of the agreement is to enhance disruption of the illicit drug traffic in Maricopa County and the State of Arizona by immobilizing targeted trafficking violators and organizations.
