11. DONATION OF QUARTER HORSE FOR SHERIFF'S MOUNTED UNIT Accept the donation of a 12-year-old Chestnut Quarter horse gelding with an estimated value of $12,000 from Bryant Quan to be used in the Sheriff’s Office Mounted Patrol Unit. The horse's name is Breez and it is 16 hands tall. This horse has a calm temperament and disposition and it is registered with the American Quarter Horse Association. Breez was evaluated by a veterinarian and farrier, both of whom found the horse to be suitable for the Sheriff's Office Mounted Unit. Breez is expected to work approximately ten years. It will cost the Sheriff's Office approximately $3,750 per year in in food, veterinarian and farrier costs to care for Breez, which will be funded within the Sheriff's (D500) General Fund (100) appropriation. The Mounted Patrol Unit operates out of the Lake Patrol Division. (C-50-19-041-D-00)
