14. PERMANENT ADDITIONS TO FLEET AND EXEMPTIONS FROM MARKINGS Approve 17 permanent additions to fleet as follows: A. Detention Fund (255); 7 Vehicles: Estimated Acquisition Cost: $212,400. Specific vehicle information will be available from Equipment Services after the vehicles are purchased and added to the fleet. 1) One (1) Sedan (Impala or Taurus) for use at 4th avenue Jail; Estimated cost: $26,500. 2) Two (2) Full Size SUVs, one for use as facility pool vehicle at new ITR and the other to use as a Commander vehicle. Estimated cost: $68,000. 3) One (1) Golf Cart – 2 seats with utility bed, for use at ITR Estimated cost: $9,900. 4) One (1) Full Size 3/4 Ton Pickup with lift gate, for use at ITR. Estimated cost: $35,000. 5) One (1) Full Sized ½ Ton, Short Bed 4 x 2 Pickup for use in Custody Business Operations; minimal markings Estimated cost: $38,000. 6) One (1) Mini Passenger Transport Van for Institutional Services. Estimated cost: $35,000 FY 2020 Get Ready cost for these vehicles is estimated to be $29,800. Annual operating expense is anticipated to be $30,500 total to be paid from the Detention Fund (255) by cost centers to which the vehicles are assigned. Authorize these additions to the County’s Detention Fund (255) replacement plan. B. General Fund; 10 Vehicles: Estimated Acquisition Cost: $398,000. Specific vehicle information will be available from Equipment Services after the vehicles are purchased and added to the fleet. 1) One (1) compact SUV, one-time addition to be used in Pre-Employment for job fairs and recruitment activities, minimal markings. Estimated cost: $22,000. 2) Four (4) full size SUV's: 2 for Court Security and 2 for District I; also approve four exemptions from markings. Estimated cost: $156,000 ($39,000 x 4). 3) One (1) One-Ton crew cab, long bed 4 x 4 truck with lift gate for use at the Impound lot. Estimated cost: $53,000. 4) Three (3) F150, 4 x 4, 1/2 ton, quad cab, standard bed, for use at MCSO Range; also approve three exemptions from markings. Estimated cost: $114,000 ($38,000 x 3). 5) One (1) one ton 4 x 4 full size crew cab truck with shell and slide out drawers for use by the bomb squad (replacing F350). Estimated cost: $53,000. FY 2020 Get Ready cost, including $50,000 for the Bomb Truck, is estimated to be $105,000. There is no additional operating expense anticipated because these vehicles replace one-time additions to fleet that will be sent to auction. Authorize these additions to the County’s General Fund (100) vehicle replacement plan. These items were in the Sheriff’s Office FY 2020 above base request for non-recurring. Approval of this item allows the Sheriff to purchase these items using funds available in the FY 2019 appropriation and reduces the FY 2020 one-time item request. (C-50-19-070-V-00)
