16. IGA WITH CITY OF BUCKEYE FOR SWORN BASIC TRAINING ACADEMY Approve an Intergovernmental Agreement between Maricopa County on behalf of the Sheriff’s Office and the City of Buckeye regarding the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Sworn Basic Training Academy. This Agreement allows City of Buckeye Officer recruits to participate in scheduled Sheriff's Sworn Basic Training Academies at a cost of $500 per registrant. The term of this Agreement is retroactive to February 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020. It is effective when signed by the parties. This agreement can be terminated at any time with written notice two months in advance of termination. City of Buckeye does not have its own training academy and this Agreement will allow MCSO to provide training space, when available, to City of Buckeye Law Enforcement recruits in MCSO scheduled sworn training academies. City of Buckeye is responsible for providing worker’s compensation insurance, salary, benefits, weapons, ammunition and uniforms for City of Buckeye recruit participants. City of Buckeye will be required pay to a registration cost of $500 per participant to cover materials. (C-50-19-071-3-00)
