8. TRANSFER OF RETIRING K-9 TO HANDLER Approve the transfer of ownership of retiring K-9, Bach, #K141, to his handler, Detective J. Minka S1053. Bach is 5 ½ years old and has had a serious tendon tear from which has been unable to fully recover. Additionally, he has become difficult to manage around other people. Bach's early retirement is recommended so that Detective Minka can safely handle and manage him. Bach came to MCSO in 2016 and during his tenure in the Special Investigations Division, Bach helped seize $279,940 in currency; 8.3 pounds of heroin; 1760 pounds of marijuana; 149.8 pounds of methamphetamine and 34.6 pounds of cocaine.
