21. AGREEMENT WITH US DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, DRUG ENFORCEMENT ADMINISTRATION FOR THE DEA TUCSON TASK FORCE FFY2021 Approve the Agreement and acceptance of up to $19,180.25 from the U.S. Department of Justice, Drug Enforcement Administration for participation in the DEA Tucson Task Force, working out of Phoenix. This agreement is for two, one-year terms, the first term begins October 1, 2020 to September 30, 2021 and the second term begins October 1, 2021 to September 30, 2022. The grant award is reoccurring and has been awarded to the Sheriff's Office since 1998. A cash or in-kind match is not applicable. There is no future or ongoing contribution required following termination of the grant period. The Sheriff’s indirect co st rate is 14.6% for a total of 2,800.32, none of which is recoverable per item 7. of the Agreement. The $2,800.32 unrecoverable indirect costs will be covered by the Sheriff's budgeted funds. The grant award is not a mandated function but provides a be nefit to the citizens by enhancing public safety through illegal drug interdiction. The grant award is not competitively bid. This agreement reimburses overtime costs for one deputy, assigned to the DEA Tucson Task Force, working out of Phoenix, up to $19 ,180.25. These revenues are not local revenues for the purpose of the constitutional expenditure limitation, and therefore, expenditures of these revenues are not prohibited by the budget law. Approval of this action will enhance disruption of the illic it drug traffic in Maricopa County and the State of Arizona by immobilizing targeted trafficking violators and organizations.
