21. MULTI AGENCY INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT FOR ARIZONA CHILD ABDUCTION RESPONSE TEAM (CART) Approve a multi-agency intergovernmental agreement for the participation in the Arizona Child Abduction Response Team (CART). Parties to this agreement are the City of Apache Junction, the City of Chandler, the Town of Gilbert, the Town of Maricopa, the City of Mesa, the Town of Paradise Valley, the City of Phoenix and the City of Scottsdale. The aforementioned are known collectively as the Arizona Child Abduction Response team agencies (CART) and upon BOS approval and subsequent filing of the attached authorizing document with the County Recorder, Maricopa County will also be a participating agency. This Agreement becomes effective upon execution by the parties and filing with the appropriate County Recorder (if required) and distribution to each member agency and remains in effect until July 1, 2025. Parties may withdraw from this Agreement with or without cause by giving 30 calendar days written notice. This is a non-financial agreement and each participating agency is responsible for its own employees and costs. The purpose of this agreement is to provide a pool of specialized investigators which are available to focus dedicated and intensive investigative, preventative, and general law enforcement efforts primarily with regard to cases involving abducted children.
