30.SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT WITH THERMO SCIENTIFIC PORTABLE ANALYTICAL INSTRUMENTS, INC. Authorize a Sole Source contract with Thermo Scientific Portable Analytical Instruments, Inc., of Tewksbury, Massachusetts in the amount $115,100 to purchase the Gemini Unit which will provide the Bomb Squad with a hand-held dual chemical analyzer that will be used to identify unknown chemicals and powders. The Gemini Unit, manufactured by Thermo Fisher, is the only unit available with dual analysis technology.

30. SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT WITH THERMO SCIENTIFIC PORTABLE ANALYTICAL INSTRUMENTS, INC. Authorize a Sole Source contract with Thermo Scientific Portable Analytical Instruments, Inc., of Tewksbury, Massachusetts in the amount $115,100 to purchase the Gemini Unit which will provide the Bomb Squad with a hand-held dual chemical analyzer that will be used to identify unknown chemicals and powders. The Gemini Unit, manufactured by Thermo Fisher, is the only unit available with dual analysis technology. Thermo Scientific Portable Analytical Instruments, Inc. is the only supplier of the Gemini which uses proprietary chemometrics analysis software, also produced only by Thermo Fisher.
