31. DETENTION OFFICER EMPLOYEE REFERRAL INCENTIVE Approve the MCSO Detention Officer Employee Referral Incentive Pilot Program and authorize the MCSO to provide cash incentives of up to $1,000 to current, eligible MCSO employees (eligibility as defined in the attached program materials) that refer quality candidates suitable for consideration for the position of Detention Officer. Incentives will be disbursed as follows: $500 at the time of successful hire (starts employment) and $500 at the time of initial probation completion. The plan also includes a $1,500 monetary incentive to be paid to current, eligible MCSO employees that refer a Lateral Detention Officer candidate who is subsequently hired and successfully completes initial probation (12 months or 18 months, if extended). This incentive will be disbursed as follows: $750 at the time of successful hire (starts employment) and $750 at the initial probation completion. This program is expected to be implemented in FY 2022 and be in effect through FY 2023. The estimated salary and benefits compensation are expected to total $411,330, or $205,665 per fiscal year. The funds will be absorbed by the MCSO and the source will be detention vacancy savings (Detention Fund 255). (C-50-21-163-X-00)
