36. DETENTION OFFICER EMPLOYEE REFERRAL INCENTIVE EXTENSION Approve an extension for two years, through FY2024, of the MCSO Detention Officer Employee Referral Incentive Pilot Program. This program was originally approved May 5, 2021 in agenda C-50-21-163-x-00. Approval of this action allows the MCSO to continue providing cash incentives of up to $1,000 to current, eligible MCSO employees that refer quality candidates suitable for consideration for the position of Detention Officer. The eligibility criteria is unchanged from the FY 2022 program. Incentives will be disbursed as follows: $500 at the time of successful hire (starts employment) and $500 at the time of initial probation completion. The plan includes a $1,500 monetary incentive to be paid to current, eligible MCSO employees that refer a Lateral Detention Officer candidate from another agency who is subsequently hired and successfully completes initial probation (12 months or 18 months, if extended). This incentive will be disbursed as follows: $750 at the time of successful hire (starts employment) and $750 at the initial probation completion. (C-50-22-180-X-00)
