AGREEMENT WITH US DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, DRUG ENFORCEMENT ADMINISTRATION FOR THE DEA PHOENIX TASK FORCE FFY2022 Approve the Agreement and acceptance of up to $38,740 from the U.S. Department of Justice, Drug Enforcement Administration for MCSO participation in the DEA Phoenix Task Forces. The term of this agreement is October 1, 2021 through September 30, 2022. The grant award is reoccurring and has been awarded to the Sheriff's Office since 1998. A cash or in-kind match is not applicable. There is no future or ongoing contribution required following termination of the grant period. The Sheriff’s indirect cost rate is 14.74% for a total of $5,710.28 none of which is recoverable per item 7 of the Agreement. The unrecoverable amount of $5,710.28 will be absorbed by the Sheriff’s Office General Fund. The grant award is not a mandated function but provides a benefit to the citizens by enhancing public safety through illegal drug interdiction. The grant award is not competitively bid. This agreement reimburses overtime costs for two deputies assigned to the Phoenix Task Force, up to $19,370 per deputy for a total of $38,740. These revenues are not local revenues for the purpose of the constitutional expenditure limitation, and therefore, expenditures of these revenues are not prohibited by the budget law.
