MOU WITH USDA FOR US FOREST SERVICE LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER’S DEPUTIZATION Approve a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Forest Service, and the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Department for the deputization of US Forest Service Law Enforcement Officer’s by the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office and to establish a continuous general framework for law enforcement procedures and relationships. This is a non-financial MOU and is effective as of the last signature date written on the MOU and for five years thereafter. RESCIND AND REPLACE MOU WITH USDA FOR US FOREST SERVICE LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER’S DEPUTIZATION Rescind and replace action taken by the Board of Supervisors on 10/19/2022 under C-50-23-050-X-00 concerning MOU with United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) for US Forest Service Law Enforcement Officers Deputization and replace with this motion: Approve a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office and the USDA, Forest Service Tonto National Forest (22-MU-11031200-207). This MOU establishes a general framework for cooperation between the U.S. Forest Service and MCSO to further mutual law enforcement interest and allow U.S. Forest Service Law E nforcement Officer’s Deputization by the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.
