30. TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP OF RETIRING K-9 - RYKER Approve the transfer of ownership of retiring K-9, Ryker, #134, to Detective S. Sanfillippo #S1511. Ryker has served MCSO for seven years primarily assisting with seizures amounting to over $118K in cash and illegal drugs with street values of over $4.5 million total. He has assisted with the arrest and apprehension of countless individuals in the County of Maricopa/State of Arizona. Ryker will be 9 years old in April 2023 and is experiencing a noticeable decrease in stamina and focus plus minor medical issues. Detective S. Sanfillippo has been Ryker's first and only handler/partner since 2015 and will accept full care and financial responsibility for Ryker upon adoption. A Canine Release and Indemnification form will be processed. THIS ITEM REQUIRES A UNANIMOUS VOTE OF THE BOARD (C-50-23-140-X-00)
