20. COMPETITION IMPRACTICABLE WITH MAGNET FORENSICS Approve an increase to the Competition Impracticable (CI) with Magnet Forensics in the amount of $86,819.65 for a total of $115, 397.75. The Office of Procurement Services approved the initial competition impracticable in the amount of $28,578.10 on August 31, 2023. MCSO needs to purchase additional licenses and pay annual renewal costs for existing licenses. MCSO originally purchased the forensic software from Magnet Forensics in 2013. This software is used during investigations to exam computers and smart phones. Since the initial purchase in 2013, MCSO requires additional licenses to keep up with investigations requiring the increased quantity of computers and smart phones that need to be examined. Magnet Forensics is the sole vendor providing this equipment and annual licensing renewals. (C-50-24-191-X-00)
