31. FIRST AMENDED RESOLUTION REGARDING DESIGNATION OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT APPLICANT'S AGENT Approve the First Amended Resolution of the Designation of Emergency Management Applicant Agent for the Arizona Division of Emergency Management (ADEM). This amended resolution grants authority to the Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) Director to designate the County’s Agent, to file the appropriate applications for emergency and disaster relief assistance with the AZDEM. State and federal disaster relief funds may be available on a reimbursable basis for qualified expensed incurred by responding agencies. The agency is required to have a designated applicant agent to be eligible to receive the emergency funds. The original resolution previously designated a specific title/person as the applicant agent for MCDOT. The amended resolution will authorize the MCDOT Director to appoint the applicant agent, as appropriate. This will provide more flexibility to the department in the event of staff changes. The designated applicant agent will submit an appropriate request to the Board of Supervisors before any funding is accepted by MCDOT from the granting authorities.
