44. IGA WITH THE CITY OF EL MIRAGE FOR THE OLIVE AVENUE INTELLIGENT TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM (ITS) PROJECT Approve the Intergovernmental Agreement (Agreement) between Maricopa County (County) and the City of El Mirage (City) for the installation of fiber optic communication cable and three traffic management cameras, together with work to interconnect traffic signals, all along the West Olive Avenue corridor in El Mirage (Project). The cost of the Project is estimated to be $1,265,000 with federal funds of $504,086 and a local match of $760,914 from the County. Funds for the project are programmed in the Public Works (910) Transportation Capital Projects Fund (234) Intelligent Transportation Syst em (INTL) Project, Sub-Project T292, Olive Avenue, Litchfield Road to SR101L ITS. Maricopa County is a member of the regional traffic management and traveler information system known as AZTech™. Led by the County, AZTech™ develops and supports traffic management projects along many of the Valley’s heavily traveled roadways. Associated with the AZTech™ Program, this Project is part of an ongoing joint effort by the County and the City of El Mirage, in cooperation with the City of Peoria and the Town of Youngtown, to provide for the efficient management of traffic on West Olive Avenue.
