SET PUBLIC HEARING-CASITAS BONITAS SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT ADJUSTMENT OF FEES Pursuant to A.R.S. § 48-910, set a public hearing for September 12, 2012 to solicit comments and consider the proposed Adjustment of Fees for the Casitas Bonitas Sanitary Sewer Improvement District. This item will become effective upon Board approval. The Casitas Bonitas Sanitary Sewer Improvement District was organized on June 12, 2002 for the purposes of collecting, treating and disposing of domestic wastewater from the properties within the district boundary. 115. CASITAS BONITAS SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT HEARING (Supervisorial District: 4) Convene a hearing to consider a resolution adjusting the fees to cover the rate increase approved by the Arizona Corporation Commission for Liberty Utilities Corp, which provides wastewater services for the Casitas Bonitas Sewer Sanitary Improvement District. In addition, please direct the Clerk of the Board to record the resolution and schedule of fees with the County Recorder, referencing (C-64-13-026-M-02). The Casitas Bonitas Sanitary Sewer Improvement District was formed in 2002 to acquire and improve a failing sewer system and provide ongoing wastewater collection, treatment, billing, and fee collection services. First National Management provided these services until closing in 2021. Liberty Utilities Corporation currently serves the District with the intent to acquire its facilities and customers in the future. The Arizona Corporation Commission approved a residential service rate of $65.91 for Liberty Utilities Corp. on August 31, 2026, in Decision No. 82134 (The previous rate of $42.43 was approved in 2012 under C-64-13-026-M-01) an increase of $23.48. The total proposed new monthly fee of $74.71 includes $65.91 (Residential Service fee Liberty Utilities), $4.50 (Maintenance of District Sewer Facilities Fee), and $4.30 (Billing & Fee Collection Services). No portion of the proposed monthly fee is retained by Maricopa County; the fees are collected solely to cover wastewater service, maintenance of District sewer facilities, and billing and fee collection services for the District.
