26. AGREEMENT WITH MARICOPA ASSOCIATIONS OF GOVERNMENTS FOR THE CAVE CREEK/CAREFREE TRANSPORTATION FRAMEWORK STUDY Approve the Agreement between Maricopa County and the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) for the Cave Creek/Carefree Transportation Framework Study. The total cost of the study will not exceed $250,000. The County’s financial cost share contribution for the Study will not exceed $25,000. Funds are budgeted in the Transportation Department operating budget for the study. This study includes the Town of Cave Creek, the Town of Carefree and limited areas of unincorporated Maricopa County. The study will develop a transportation framework for the study area that will ultimately be implemented at multiple jurisdictional levels. The Study’s main objectives are to integrate pedestrian/bicycle non-motorized transportation into existing corridors in a safe manner, determine improvements and develop a plan to address special events traffic, address local and regional mobility, and consider access-management issues, while understanding the communities’ values and future transportation needs.
