95. CHANGE IN TRAFFIC CONTROLS ON SOUTHERN AVENUE Approve a change in traffic controls (Speed Limits) on unincorporated right-of-way at the following location: A 40 MPH SPEED LIMIT ZONE (from a 50 MPH SPEED LIMIT ZONE) on Southern Avenue from Crismon Road to Cheshire. (This partially rescinds the 50 MPH speed limit zone dated January 08, 1990). A 45 MPH SPEED LIMIT ZONE (from a 50 MPH SPEED LIMIT ZONE) on Southern Avenue from Signal Butte Road to Meridian Road. (This partially rescinds the 50 MPH speed limit zone dated January 08, 1990). This agenda item is the results of completion of MCDOT’s Safety Improvement Project to reduce speeds in areas that have Elementary Schools adjacent to section line roads and to reduce speed limits in areas that have changed from rural to urban.
