52. BID AND AWARD FOR CONSTRUCTION OF INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS: ELLIOT ROAD AND SOSSAMAN ROAD Approve the solicitation of bids for the Maricopa County Department of Transportation’s construction of intersection improvements at Elliot Road and Sossaman Road including asphalt concrete pavement, traffic signals, new striping and signing. Award the contract to the lowest responsive bidder, provided that the lowest responsive bidder does not exceed the Engineer’s estimate by more than ten percent. Funds are available through the Transportation Department (640) Transportation Capital Projects fund (234) Traffic Improvements (TIMP) Project, Sub-Project T333. The purpose of this project is to signalize the intersection of Elliot Road and Sossaman Road in accordance with the traffic signal warrant study completed by the MCDOT Traffic Management Division on 10/22/2009. In addition to the installation of the traffic signals appropriate intersection improvements will also be completed with this project. The project design is completed and the necessary utility clearance will be acquired by 10/31/2013. Supervisory District No. 2 (C-64-14-028-5-00)
