53. BID AND AWARD FOR MERIDIAN ROAD AND EMPIRE BOULEVARD INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS Approve the solicitation of bids for the Maricopa County Department of Transportation’s (MCDOT) Meridian Road and Empire Boulevard Intersection improvements, County Project No. T420. Approve the award of the contract to the lowest responsive responsible bidder, provided that the lowest responsive responsible bidder does not exceed the Engineer’s estimate by more than ten percent. The purpose of this project is to improve and widen the intersection of Meridian Road and Empire Boulevard at the North West corner with the traffic signal, private irrigation, signing and striping.
