68. IGA WITH THE CITY OF PHOENIX FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO 35TH AVENUE FROM BASELINE ROAD TO SOUTHERN AVENUE Approve Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) between Maricopa County (the “County”) and the City of Phoenix (the “City”) for improvements to 35th Avenue from Baseline Road to Southern Avenue (the “Project”). This Agreement defines the responsibilities of the County and the City with respect to all elements of work and cost share obligations for the Project. The estimated cost for the construction of the Project is $3.45 million. The County’s cost share contribution is $1.07 million. Funds will be budgeted in the FY2015-16 Transportation Department (640) Transportation Capital Project Fund (234) for Partnership (PSUP) Project, sub-project T483 35th Avenue: Baseline Road to Southern. Construction of the Project is anticipated to begin in fiscal year 2016. This corridor serves a substantial amount of county residents based on the existing frontage that lies within the unincorporated area of the County. Improvements will include the construction of four lanes with adjacent bike lanes, sidewalks, curb, gutter and street lighting. The County’s cost share contribution is $1,070,000. The estimated total cost for construction is $3,450,000 The City is the lead agency for all elements of work for the Project and will be responsible for any additional costs associated with Project. The terms of the agreement are in effect as of Board of Supervisors approval and shall remain in full force and effect until all stipulations have been satisfied except that it may be amended upon written agreement by both parties.
