57. IGA WITH THE CITY OF CHANDLER FOR SPECIAL PROJECT FUND IMPROVEMENTS TO GERMANN ROAD FROM ARIZONA AVENUE TO HAMILTON STREET Approve the Intergovernmental Agreement between Maricopa County and City of Chandler for Special Project Fund Recommendation Improvements to Germann Road from Arizona Avenue to Hamilton Street. Under the this agreement, the City of Chandler will improve Germann Road for 0.34 mile immediately east of Arizona Avenue to Hamilton Street. The improvements will include rehabilitating the asphalt pavement and upgrading curb ramps, sidewalks and driveways to meet the current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. The project will also include repair of two trench failures. In 2002, the Board of Supervisors (BOS) created the Transportation Advisory Board (TAB) Special Project Fund (SPF) in the amount of $1,000,000 per fiscal year. The BOS increased the SPF to $1,500,000 in 2007. The SPF is intended to fund opportunities that arise during a fiscal year and may be missed if time is taken to proceed through the normal Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) process. The SPF is administered by MCDOT, in accordance with the BOS resolutions, through MCDOT Policy T-1103 and Procedure P1103. On September 16, 2014, the TAB recommended that the BOS fund the subject project from the FY 2015 SPF for a maximum amount of $350,000. The recommended funding amount excludes the cost of any enhancements requested by the City over and above the scope of the project as presented in the City’s application to the TAB. The City shall pay for any enhancements. The City will annex the road segment after project completion. This Agreement shall become effective as of the approval dates by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors and the Chandler City Council. Supervisory District No. 1 (C-64-15-084-M-00)
