62. BID AND AWARD FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS AT UNION HILLS DRIVE AND 99TH AVENUE Approve the solicitation of bids for the Maricopa County Department of Transportation’s construction of the intersection improvements at Union Hills Drive and 99th Ave including box culvert extension, drainage system, roadway widening increase intersection capacity, asphalt concrete pavement, traffic signals, new striping and signing. Award the contract to the lowest responsive bidder, provided that the lowest responsive bidder does not exceed the Engineer’s estimate by more than ten percent. Funds will be budgeted through the Transportation Department (640) Transportation Capital Projects fund (234) Traffic Improvements (TIMP) Project, Sub-Project T463. The project will improve traffic operations and safety at the intersection of Union Hills Dr and 99th Ave. The existing drainage system includes a connection with an EPCOR potable water system that is used to discharge into the existing County channel. An agreement has been completed with EPCOR as they will be responsible for the cost to connect their system to the new drainage system the project will construct.
