70. BID AND AWARD FOR PAVING FOUR ROADWAY SEGMENTS: DOVE VALLEY AREA LOW VOLUME ROADS Approve the solicitation of bids for the Maricopa County Department of Transportation’s construction of the paving of four roadway segments, totaling approximately 2.5 miles including Montgomery Road, 171st Avenue to 163rd Avenue; White Wing Road, 171st Avenue to 163rd Avenue; 168th Avenue, Dixileta Drive to Dove Wing Way; and 167th Avenue, Dixileta Drive to Windstone Trail. Improvements include asphalt paving, dip crossings, driveway grading and paving, applying a chemical dust suppressant to unpaved areas adjacent to the new travel lanes, new striping and signing. Award the contract to the lowest responsive bidder, provided that the lowest responsive bidder does not exceed the Engineer’s estimate by more than ten percent. Funds will be budgeted through the Transportation Department (640) Transportation Capital Projects fund (234) Traffic Improvements (TIMP) Project, Sub-Project T433. The project will improve air quality by mitigating dust. The existing roadways are unpaved and local residents have complained of excessive dust. Supervisory District No. 4. (C-64-16-064-5-00)
