58. IGA WITH THE CITY OF PHOENIX FOR TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT AND OPERATIONS Approve an Intergovernmental Agreement between Maricopa County and City of Phoenix for traffic management and operations. The purpose of this Agreement is to identify and define both parties’ respective roles to jointly develop projects in a collaborative effort which will support the establishment a regionally integrated traveler information system and expand the transportation management system for the metropolitan area. The Agreement provides the opportunity to mutually develop joint Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Projects. These projects may be proposed by either party and will become effective as an addendum to this Agreement upon mutual approval by both parties. The application of the Agreement will benefit areas in the County and City as part of regional systems integration, infrastructure and systems, incident and congestion management and integrated corridor management. Individual tasks performed by either party will be executed upon the completion of an Addendum approved and signed by the Department of Transportation Director and the City’s Street Transportation Director or their designee. The terms of the agreement are in effect as of Board of Supervisors approval and shall remain in full force and effect until all stipulations have been satisfied, except that it may be amended upon written agreement by both parties.
