25. CONTRACT WITH QUEEN CREEK IRRIGATION DISTRICT FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO RIGGS ROAD - POWER ROAD TO HAWES ROAD Approve and authorize the Chairman of the Board to execute the contract between Maricopa County (County) and the Queen Creek Irrigation District (QCID) to relocate QCID facilities within the project limits of Project TT0406: Riggs Road- Power Road to Hawes Road. The estimated cost for completing the work is $4,051,163.42. Final invoicing will not exceed 10% of the estimated cost. Funds are available in Transportation (640), Transportation Capital Project Fund (234), County Arterials (ARTS) Project, Sub-Project TT0406. The purpose of this relocation effort is to move QCID facilities out from under roadway improvement occurring on Riggs between Power Road and Hawes Road and to relocate QCID facilities located in the intersection of Sossaman Road and Riggs Road. This project will require QCID to remove approximately 9000 feet of 48” Cast in Place pipe and replace it with 8500’ of 36” and 48” RGRCP pipe. This project is necessary because Riggs Rd. will be a major traffic artery in the community. This will be part of building Riggs Rd. to a five lane section from Power Rd. to Hawes Rd. QCID is a major irrigation water provider in the local community and helping them relocate their facility so as to provide continued service to this area allows the area to continue to grow and develop.
