40. CHANGE ORDER NO. 4 WITH HDR ENGINEERING INC. FOR ADDITIONAL DESIGN SERVICES FOR GILBERT ROAD BRIDGE AT SALT RIVER Approve Change Order No. 4 for $1,698,721.45 with HDR Engineering, Inc., Contract No. 2015-039 for additional design services for Gilbert Road Bridge at the Salt River, MCDOT Project No. TT0339. Additional design services and extended design period are required due to extending the main Gilbert Road Bridge from 1,445 feet to 3,685 feet; adding a new 450 foot bridge “Northern Reliever Bridge”; preparing new 60% plans, specifications, and cost estimate; additional effort to complete 95%, 100% sealed submittals with new project definition; and providing Post Design services. Funds are budgeted in Transportation Improvement Program MAG ALCP, Sub-Project TT0339. The project will replace the existing two-lane bridge and low flow crossing with a new bridge of 3685 feet and an additional 450 foot Northern Reliever Bridge which will provide an all-weather crossing over the Salt River and connect to SR87.
