76. CHANGE IN TRAFFIC CONTROLS ON BUSH HIGHWAY Approve a change in traffic controls (Speed Limits) on unincorporated right-of-way at the following location: 1. A 45 MPH SPEED LIMIT ZONE (from a 50 MPH/45 MPH SPEED LIMIT ZONE) on Bush Highway from Power Road (Indian School Road alignment) north/east to 2 miles east of Usery Pass Road. (This rescinds the 50 MPH speed limit zone dated June 5, 1972 and the 45 MPH speed limit zone dated September 24, 2014). 2. A 40 MPH SPEED LIMIT ZONE (from a 45 MPH SPEED LIMIT ZONE) on Bush Highway from 2.55 miles east of Usery Pass Road to Stewart Mountain Dam Road (This rescinds the 45 MPH speed limit zone dated June 5, 1972 and the 40 MPH speed limit zone dated February 22, 1988) 3. A 35 MPH SPEED LIMIT ZONE (from a 40 MPH SPEED LIMIT ZONE) on Bush Highway from Stewart Mountain Dam Road to 800 feet south of Saguaro Lake Entrance Road (Forest Highway 206). (This rescinds the 40 MPH speed limit zone dated February 22, 1988 and the 35 MPH speed limit zone dated June 5, 1972) This agenda item is the result of a Traffic Engineering Study conducted to reduce the speed limit on Bush Highway due to the recently reconstructed roadway and the addition of designated bicycle lanes.
