40. IGA WITH THE CITY OF BUCKEYE FOR FIRE PREEMPTION EQUIPMENT OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE Approve the Intergovernmental Agreement between Maricopa County and the City of Buckeye for the installation, operation, and maintenance of fire preemption equipment on County-owned traffic signal at Sun Valley Parkway and Canyon Springs Boulevard. Either Party may terminate this Agreement at any time prior to the expiration date by furnishing the other Party with a thirty (30) day written notice. The purpose of this Agreement is to define the responsibilities of each Party related to the purchasing, installation, and maintenance of fire preemption equipment as part of a City development signal installation project. The City is requiring the developer to install a traffic signal at Sun Valley Parkway and Canyon Springs Boulevard that will be owned, operated, and maintained by the County. Under this Agreement, the City shall direct the developer to purchase fire preemption equipment compatible with County traffic signals and controllers and install the equipment on the new signals. The County will provide routine maintenance upon completion of the project. The City will incur all costs associated with replacement parts needed as part of normal, routine maintenance.
