58. CHANGE IN TRAFFIC CONTROLS ON THUNDERBIRD ROAD Approve a change in traffic controls (Speed Limits) on unincorporated right-of-way at the following location: 1. A 40 MPH SPEED LIMIT ZONE (from a 30 MPH SPEED LIMIT ZONE) on Thunderbird Road from 94th Drive to Boswell Boulevard. (This partially rescinds the 30 MPH speed limit zone dated October 15, 1973). This agenda item is the result of a Traffic Engineering Study to install signing requested by the Sun City Prides. This study identified the dual posted speed limits on Thunderbird Road. The City of Peoria maintains the south half and MCDOT maintains the north half of Thunderbird Road. MCDOT will install a 40 mph speed limit top match the City of Peoria’s posted speed on this section of roadway. Supervisory District No. 4 (C-64-19-096-M-00)
