43. IGA WITH CITY OF CHANDLER FOR RIGHT OF WAY ASSISTANCE AND IMPROVEMENTS TO OCOTILLO ROAD Approve the Intergovernmental Agreement between Maricopa County and City of Chandler for right-of-way acquisitions, design and construction of Ocotillo Road from Gilbert Road to 148th Street. Under this Intergovernmental Agreement, Maricopa County (County) and City of Chandler (City) will widen Ocotillo Road to four lanes with raised landscape medians, curb, gutter, sidewalk, drainage improvements and install a traffic signal. The County will assist the City in acquiring right-of-way and pay a portion of the design and construction of Ocotillo Road to the City. The County’s design and construction cost share contribution is $368,861. Funds will be budgeted in FY2021 Transportation Department (640) Transportation Capital Project Fund (234) Transportation System Management Project, sub-project TT0627. The City will lead the project and be responsible for the remaining cost of the Project. The City will begin the annexation of the unincorporated areas upon execution of this Agreement. The City will be responsible for the maintenance and operations of Ocotillo Road from Gilbert Road to 148th Street when the project is complete. The terms of the agreement are in effect as of Board of Supervisors approval and shall remain in full force and effect until all stipulations have been satisfied, except that it may be amended upon written agreement by both parties.
