96. MCDOT FLEET REPLACEMENT Approve an exception to the vehicle replacement policy by allowing a fleet replacement for Maricopa County Department of Transportation to address unique circumstances. This will replace one Regional Emergency Action Coordinating Team (REACT) impounded vehicle, unit 312031, VIN # 1FT7W2BT2LEC73724. This truck is being held as evidence after an accident resulting in the death of a MCDOT employee. There is no estimated timeframe for release of the vehicle, and it could be several years. In the meantime, REACT requires a replacement vehicle to continue day-to-day operations. An exception to the policy will allow Equipment Services to purchase a replacement vehicle. Once the impounded vehicle is released by the City of Glendale, it will be permanently removed from the fleet, resulting to a net impact of zero to the fleet.
