84. IGA WITH GILA RIVER INDIAN COMMUNITY FOR OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS Approve the Intergovernmental Agreement between Maricopa County and Gila River Indian Community (GRIC) for the operation and maintenance of seven (7) traffic signals. Either Party may terminate this Agreement at any time prior to the expiration date by furnishing the other Party with a thirty (30) day written notice. The purpose of this Agreement is to authorize for the County to operate and maintain GRIC-owned traffic signals and define the responsibilities of each Party related to such signals. Currently, the County operates and maintains seven (7) traffic signals within GRIC. The number of GRIC-owned signals operated and maintained by the County shall not exceed seven. Through this Agreement, any change in the number of County-operated and maintained signals (up to the maximum of seven) will be accomplished through a Letter of Agreement (LOA). The LOA will specify which signals are being removed or added and be approved by the County Transportation Director and the GRIC Department of Transportation Director, or their designees. The County shall invoice GRIC at least annually for all costs associated with the operation and maintenance of identified signals. This includes all costs for routine operation and maintenance and costs associated with signal failures and reconstruction of damaged equipment. Supervisory District No. 5 (C-64-22-161-X-00)
