64. IGA WITH THE ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR CONSTRUCTION OF ROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS TO US60X (APACHE TRAIL) Approve the Intergovernmental Agreement between Maricopa County (County) and the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT). ADOT will design, advertise, award and administer the construction of roadway improvements to the US60X (also referred to as Apache Trail), from Sossaman Road to Meridian Road. ADOT will lead the design and construction of the improvements to the County’s standards. The improvements will include, but are not limited to, widening, signing, and striping of the roadway, minor structural improvements to drainage facilities, bike lanes, sidewalks, and lighting. ADOT will obtain federal funds for the design and construction costs associated with the Project. After completion of the Project, the State will abandon ownership, jurisdiction, and maintenance responsibilities of US 60X from Sossaman Road to Meridian Road to the County, with the approval of the State Transportation Board. The abandonment will be accommodated by the State’s Right of Way process of either 120 day advance notice or a separate four-year waiver consistent with Arizona Revised Statutes § 28-7209. The terms of the agreement are in effect as of the Board of Supervisors’ approval and shall remain in full force and effect until all stipulations have been satisfied, except that it may be amended upon written agreement by all parties.
