64. INCREASE TO MCDOT FLEET Approve an exception to the vehicle replacement policy by allowing an increase to the Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) fleet by two (2) units to purchase two (2) new street sweepers. MCDOT added over 10,000 square yards of road since January 2020 without any increase to the fleet or personnel. Additionally, the MCDOT street sweeper fleet is aging, and repairs are time consuming causing street sweepers to be down for extended periods of time. Adding two sweepers will allow MCDOT to continue to provide customer service through routine sweeping activities of the additional roads and cover when older sweepers are broken down. MCDOT is planning to purchase five (5) sweepers over the next two fiscal years, two (2) of which will be additions to the fleet and the other three (3) will be replacing existing sweepers that will reach their useful life. MCDOT will be applying for grant funding through the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) PM-10 Certified Street Sweeper program for funding for two (2) sweepers to reduce the amount of operational funding needed for new equipment over the next two years. If MCDOT is unsuccessful in obtaining grant funding, MCDOT will program the funds needed to purchase the sweepers in future fiscal years. Supervisory District No. All (C-64-23-078-X-00)
