92. PARTICIPATE IN TRANSPORTATION RESEARCH BOARD’S ROUNDTABLE/FORUM AND PAYMENT OF ANNUAL DUES Approve continued participation by the Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) for the next 3 years on the Transportation Research Board’s (TRB) Roundtable/Forum on Preparing for Automated Vehicles (AV) and Shared Mobility Services. This requested action also includes payment of dues annually of $5,000 for up to 3 calendar years (CY2023, CY2024 and CY2025), for a maximum total of $15,000. Funds for participation are programmed in the Department of Transportation Operating Fund (fund 232), MCDOT Director’s Office. The Transportation Research Board is a unit of the National Academy of Sciences. As a continuing TRB stakeholder, MCDOT will have affiliation with, and access to, the National Academies and TRB. The TRB Forum will entitle MCDOT to participate as a partner to identify and facilitate research needed to deploy AV and shared mobility services. Such partnership will bring together stakeholders on an ongoing basis to promote policy to best meet long-term goals, including safety, reducing congestion, enhancing accessibility, increasing sustainability and encouraging economic development and equity.
