IGA WITH CITY OF SURPRISE FOR THE INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS ON SUN VALLEY PARKWAY AT 227TH AVENUE & 219TH AVENUE Approve the Intergovernmental Agreement between Maricopa County (County) and the City of Surprise (City) for the installation, operation, and maintenance of traffic signals and fire preemption equipment at the intersections of Sun Valley Parkway at 227th Avenue and 219th Avenue. Either Party may terminate this Agreement at any time prior to the expiration date by furnishing the other Party with a thirty (30) day written notice. The purpose of this Agreement is to define the responsibilities of each Party related to the purchasing, installation, and maintenance of traffic signals and fire preemption equipment. The City will install new traffic signals at the intersections of Sun Valley Parkway at 227th Avenue and 219th Avenue that will be owned, operated, and maintained by the County. The County will own and operate the traffic signals once the project is complete and the City will incur all costs associated with replacement parts needed as part of normal, routine maintenance.
