82. IGA WITH CITY OF PHOENIX FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A TRAFFIC SIGNAL AT INDIAN SCHOOL ROAD A ND 99TH AVENUE Approve the Intergovernmental Agreement between Maricopa County and the City of Phoenix to assume full responsibility for the traffic signal at 99th Avenue and Indian School Road (TT0738). The intersection of 99th Avenue and Indian School Road is an existing signalized intersection operated by Maricopa County. The City operates traffic signals north and south of Indian School Road on 99th Avenue. Assuming full responsibility for the signalized intersection will allow the City to prov ide uniform traffic management along the 99th Avenue corridor. The traffic signal will need to be upgraded to sustain the increase in traffic volumes. The City will lead the efforts to rebuild the traffic signal at the intersection. Maricopa County will co ntribute $150,000, and private development within the City will contribute the remaining cost of rebuilding the traffic signal. The southwest corner was recently rebuilt to current standards. Development is occurring in Phoenix on the northeast and southe ast corners, and the developers will be responsible for the cost of rebuilding the traffic signals at their respective corners. The City will be responsible for ongoing operations and maintenance costs for the traffic signal. Either Party may terminate th is Agreement before the expiration date by furnishing the other Party with thirty (30) days’ written notice. Supervisory District No. 4 & 5 (C-64-24-011-X-00)
