L-1. SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT WITH INTERFACE ELECTRONICS Approve a sole source contract with Interface Electronics for a not-to-exceed amount of $150,000 for renewal of a contract for a POTOMAC Electronic Messaging System. This system supports plasma screens in all Library District facilities for displaying library programs and live news feeds. It is believed that the POTOMAC System is the only solution that allows institutions to disseminate time sensitive information and be capable of integrating RSS and Quick Time feeds while interfacing with previously procured and implemented E-Vanced Solutions Events Calendar Solutions. The POTOMAC System is believed to be the only system that contains a JAVA enabled tool that allows a library customer to view exactly what is being displayed on monitors in libraries via the Internet. It is believed that Interface Electronics is the sole distributor of the POTOMAC System. (C-65-10-016-M-00)
