L-13. LIBRARY MATERIALS ASSISTANCE PROGRAM Approve a Library Materials Assistance Program that will allow the Library District to purchase material for the independent libraries in Maricopa County through "Library Materials Credits" through selected vendors. The participating public libraries will select and order the materials they want, approve the invoices, and then send the approved invoices to the Library District for payment. All materials selected under this program must be catalogued and freely available to all Maricopa County residents. The formula for distribution of the credits will be that each participating public library will receive the percentage of available funds ($1,000,000 for FY 2011-2012) that is equal to the percentage of the taxes collected by the District from their city or town as a percentage of the total raised by the Library District Tax. The District would combine all the library materials budgets of the participating public libraries and bid to get the best price discount possible. Approve an increase to the FY 2012 Library District (650) Library District Fund (244) Operating (0000) expenditure budget in the amount of $1,000,000. (C-65-12-005-M-00)
