H-1. RESOLUTION 15-019 INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT FOR THE HOUSING CHOICE VOUCHER VETERAN AFFAIRS SUPPORTIVE HOUSING PROGRAM BETWEEN THE MESA HOUSING AUTHORITY AND HOUSING AUTHORITY OF MARICOPA COUNTY Adopt Resolution 15-019 and approve the Housing Authority of Maricopa County to enter into an Intergovernmental Agreement for the Housing Choice Voucher Veteran Affairs Supportive Housing Program with the Mesa Housing Authority. This Agreement shall be effective upon Board approval and will remain in effect for two years unless terminated as provided herein. If agreed by the parties, this Agreement may be extended two times for a period of one year each time. There is no financial impact associated with this item. The Mesa Housing Authority administers the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Housing Choice Voucher Veteran Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH) program which combines voucher rental assistance for homeless veterans and their families with case management and clinical services provided by the Department of Veteran Affairs medical center and clinics. VASH participants often desire to lease housing outside the jurisdiction of their respective public housing authority. Resolution 15-019 allows the Housing Authority of Maricopa County (HAMC) to enter into an agreement with the Mesa Housing Authority that allows these VASH participants to lease housing in HAMC’s jurisdiction and still receive other case management and clinical services provided by the Department of Veteran Affairs medical center and clinics.
