S-1. SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT WITH SIMS MURRAY, LTD FOR LEGAL SERVICES In accordance with Section MC1-348 of the Maricopa County Procurement Code, which has previously been adopted by the Stadium District, approve a three year sole source contract with the law firm of Sims Murray, LTD. beginning July 20, 2016 in an amount not to exceed $250,000. The purpose of this contract is to provide advice and representation to the Stadium District on contractual issues requiring interpretation and potential amendments to the existing agreements governing the relationship between the District and the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Arizona Cactus League and Major League Baseball. Sims Murray, LTD. is uniquely qualified to fulfill the Stadium Districts requirements to advise and represent the District, as owner of Chase Field, on all agreements governing its relationship with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Sims Murray, LTD. staff assisted in the negotiation and writing of the original agreements between the District and the Diamondbacks and have continued to provide advice and consultation on these agreements since that time. Sims Murray, LTD. have specific contractual and relationship expertise and knowledge that other law firms do not possess. This law firm may also be engaged to assist the Stadium District with Arizona Cactus League contractual issues that arise. The funding amount requested includes possible costs that may be incurred for Alternative Dispute Resolution or litigation that could arise during the term of this agreement. (C-68-16-008-M-00)
