F-5. EXEMPTION TO POST EMPLOYMENT HEALTH ENHANCEMENT (RETIREMENT) PROGRAM Approve the creation of one classified position (working title, Construction Management Specialist) in Public Works/Flood Control. This position request is necessary due to the participation of the Construction Management Specialist in the Post Employment Health Plan Enhancement (Retirement) Program (PEHPEP) which required that the position (#20093) be eliminated. Creation of the new position is necessary to meet demand for services. Position #20093, in the Public Works/Flood Control Department, was inactivated due to the incumbent’s participation in the 2010 Post Employment Health Plan Enhancement Program. The position attributes for the position is as follows: MRT: Inspector Status: Classified Budgeted Rate: $28.46 Due to the nature of this position, Public Works/Flood Control has determined it necessary to replace position #20093 with a new position. The new positions' attributes will be as follows: MRT: Inspector Status: Classified Budgeted Rate: $24.23 The Public Works/Flood Control will achieve savings through hiring new employees at a lower rate of pay than the retiring employee. This will result in $8,798 annual savings for the position as required under the 2010 Retirement Health Enhancement Program. (C-69-10-074-M-00)
