F-3. RESOLUTION FOR SLOPE EMBANKMENT EROSION HAZARD MITIGATION PROJECT Adopt Resolution FCD 2010R006 for the Slope Embankment Erosion Hazard Mitigation Project (Project), authorizing the Chief Engineer and General Manager of the Flood Control District of Maricopa County (District) to advertise, select, negotiate, and award contracts for engineering and construction services, negotiate Intergovernmental Agreements and budget funds for implementation of the Project, subject to Board ratification and approval. The District operates and maintains flood control dams, channels, levees and basins within and without Maricopa County that provide flood protection for significant portions of Maricopa County. Slope embankments associated with many of these structures are earthen and prone to erosion, which can adversely impact the functioning and/or integrity of the structure. Minimizing erosion of slope embankments can most effectively be accomplished by placing gravel mulch on slope embankments or making similar improvements.
